As in the days of old, when knights had a code of chivalry, in and out of battle, We, the members, of the Knights of Slaughterhaus clan, have agreed to honor the following Code of Chivalry:
PLEASE NOTE: It is understood that mistakes may sometimes happen, and that players may sometimes get carried away by the excitement of the battle (or by partaking in a little too much of their favorite “relaxation formula”). In that light, it is asked that you simply type/say “sorry”, as soon as possible after the “code breech”. With that same understanding, victims of the “code breech” are asked to simply forgive these occurrences.
o In all situations, treat guests and fellow clan-members (new and old) with the utmost courtesy and respect.
o Try to keep the “atmosphere” of the game as if it were a Cheers-type bar “where everyone knows your name”, and make an effort to try often to do the following:
--Greet guests and fellow clan-members when they join the server.
--Bid farewell-to-all when you leave the server.
--Commend “incredibly lucky” or “extremely skillful” kills.
--Laugh (type “LOL”) when something funny happens.
o Type “BRB” when you need to temporarily leave your game controls (this avoids people “talking to the air”) and understand that your player may accidentally be killed while you are absent.
o If playing a “deathmatch game”, do not intentionally kill anyone “facing a corner”, as this stance is generally understood as a “time-out stance” and is usually followed by a typed message. However, it is considered “bad form” to use this stance for a combat advantage (ie. do not use it for evading a pursuing opponent or for the reloading or changing of weapons. In addition, when re-entering the match from this stance, do not immediately engage any opponents that may be retreating from your “time-out” position (ie. give them a chance to run a bit first).
o Do not immediately engage in combat, those who have just spawned into the match, or those who have just respawned back into the match (again, give them a chance to run a bit first). PLEASE NOTE: When a capture point or objective item (in “team-based games) is right next to a spawn point, it is permissible to “spawn kill” while honestly pursuing that flag or objective.
o In games where applicable, do not intentionally “mine” respawn points or teleportation exit points in the map. PLEASE NOTE: It is perfectly acceptable to “mine” teleportation “entry” points in the map. In addition, it is also perfectly acceptable to “cage” an opponent by mining “one-step-away” areas from respawn or teleportation exit areas.
o Never intentionally use any type of “cheats” that would give you any sort of advantage in the game (ie. Cheat Codes, Cheat Hacks, Playing At Extreamly Low Video Resolutions, Using Models With Non-Standard Hit-Boxes(ie. “half-height models are not allowed”), Mapping More Than One Key-Stroke Action Or Function To A Single Key, etc.).
o Keep the Private Server password confidential (if a Public Server Guest is interested in becoming a “regular player” (ie. A Member of our Clan), please invite them to post this request on our website, including their email address, so that one of the Clan Leaders can contact them, confirm that they will agree to play by our Code of Chivalry, grant them permission to wear our “colors”, and provide them with our Private Server Password. The rest of the clan will normally be introduced to new members by a posting, in the appropriate area, on our website.
o If you have “Admin Privileges” on our servers, and would like to change the map, please launch a vote (or, if a vote utility does not exist for that game, simply type a message to all and try to get a majority consensus) before changing the map.
o If you have “Admin Privileges” on our servers, and there is a player acting like a “jerk”, please specifically warn them why they will be kicked if they continue to act that way (describing what they are doing), and follow-through by actually kicking them if they refuse to heed your warning. Furthermore, if a repeat offender keeps returning and continues to act like a jerk, please keep kicking them and submit a request to one of the Clan Leaders to ban them from our servers.
